Jiwei Vibrating Rod Level Switch——Optimal for Sand Level Measurement
A customer in Jiangsu mainly produces finished sand, hoped to install level measurement sensors in hermetic metal containers at the sand production line for both overflow on high level control and dry-run protection on low level control with alarm signals.
The dry-sand making processes not require water, so the workshop is surrounded by flying dust. The dry-sand medium mainly contains coarse sands, uneven size particles and powders.
The flying dust put forwards on the high requirement to sensor’s sealing performance. Besides, due to the high density and strong impaction on the sensor probe, further steps will be taken to avoid damages to the probe.
Therefore, Tube-11 Vibrating Rod Level Switch would be an optimal choice in this case. Tube-11 has following strengths:
● First made-in-China Vibrating Rod Level Switch that is designed with double vibrating tubes. High sensitivity thanks to the fine adjustment on the resonant vibrating frequency; suitable for majority granular bulk solids. Measurable medium density can be as low as 0.02g/cm³.
● Strong anti-hanging ability and is not easy to be bent by granular materials thanks to the probe material selection, such as 316L and 318 S13.
● IP66/IP67 Ingress Protection prevents dust penetration.
● With CE certificates, gas/dust Flameproof Enclosure and gas/dust Intrinsic Safety certificates.
● An industry leading product that can tolerate high process temperature up to 250℃, and ultra-high temperature up to 400℃ (Water/air cooling).
To minimize the impaction on the probe, it is recommended to install a protection baffle above the vibrating body, or mounted Tube-11 in a recess portion of the container.
1.Install a protection baffle
For horizontal installation, mount Tube-11A approx.20°inclined to the vessel’s bottom to avoid medium buildup. To protect the probe from direct impact damage, a protection baffle should be installed above the vibrating body, and longer than intrusion depth (horizontal). Generally, protection baffle can be a convex shape (inverted “V” section). If medium is coarse and abrasive, baffle in concave shape (erected “v” section), so medium could stack up a bit in concave area.
2. Mount in a recess portion of the container
In situation where medium is with higher density and bigger granular size, and medium fills in vertically downwards, it will impact the probe, to ensure the life time of instrument and reliable measurement, instrument should be mounted in a recess portion of the container to protect the probe from impacting or being bent by filling materials.
