Application of Magnetic Level Indicator in Level Measurement of Horizontal Storage Containers

Guangxi Shuangying Group is mainly engaged in the production of automobile parts. In the production, polyether is an indispensable raw material, as known as polyethylene glycol ether, is a kind of transparent viscous liquid and synthetic oil. Its viscosity index is much larger than that of mineral oil, with a density of 1.095g/ml. Generally, polyether has good fluidity at low temperature. However, each of the client’s horizontal storage containers is 3 meters long and with constricted mounting spaces. The distance from the container bottom to the ground is only 0.8m. Since it is crucial to monitor the actual liquid level in real time to ensure the normal production, higher requirements for measuring instruments are put forward due to the special working condition.

Magnetic Level Indicators are mostly used for three-dimensional storage tanks rather than horizontal storage containers. Aimed at the low mounting position and limited, Jiwei customized and re-structured Magnetic Level Indicators on the basis of the client’s requirements.

The conventional structure of Magnetic Level Indicators was composed of buoy, panel, upper and lower flange. In this case, Jiwei engineer removed the upper flange and the lower drain valve and blocked the lower end with a blind plate. Due to the constricted mounting space, the distance between the lower flange and the ground should be within 0.8m. In addition, because of the removed upper flange, to facilitate the exhaust and to avoid rainwater and dust entering the buoy, an elbow pipe was designed at the upper end of the buoy, as well as a bracket was built to support the indicator.
