Jiwei Flap-11 Magnetic Level Indicator Achieves SIL2/SIL3 Functional Safety Certification
Recently, the Jiwei Flap-11 Magnetic Level Indicator series successfully passed the SIL2/SIL3 Functional Safety Assessment, authorized by the Instrumentation Technology and Economy Institute (ITEI).
The Flap-11 Magnetic Level Indicator can be equipped with the Reed-11 Remote Transmitter and the SW-11 Magnetic Switch, enabling remote level control with SC3 systematic safety integrity and SIL2/SIL3 hardware safety integrity protection. This achievement signifies that Jiwei Flap-11 Magnetic Level Indicators meet international safety standards and the highest safety standards for instrumentation in petrochemical production.
Jiwei has currently applied for seven patents (both invention and utility patents) for the Flap-11 series products. The front protective cover of the Flap-11 series is made of either glass panel or acrylic sheet. The unique design of the end fittings and glass sealing process for the indicator, along with an Ingress Protection rating that exceeds the national standard of IP54 and achieves higher levels of IP65 or IP66/IP67, underscores the product’s robustness. The innovative magnetic coupling system between the floats and flaps significantly enhances the reliability of the magnetic coupling, preventing erroneous flap flips that could lead to false readings. Additionally, the F4 (PTFE)/F46 (FEP) lined chambers available for the Flap-11 series cater to various level measurement applications involving strongly corrosive liquids. The F4 (PTFE) lined chamber is ideal for liquids with poor permeability, while the F46 (FEP) lined chamber is suitable for highly permeable corrosive liquids, such as liquid chlorine or bromine water.
Furthermore, the distinctive design featuring a broader display panel and magnetic flaps improves both visual distance and viewing angle. The larger, sharp scales and digits on the display panel contribute to an elegant appearance and enhance readability from up to 200 feet away.
