Applications of Insulation Coatings in Level Switches
To prevent the level meters from being corroded by media, coatings are usually applied to the wetted parts, such as Tuning Fork Level Switch coated with PTFE, ECTFE, PFA, and Magnetic Level Gauge lined with PTFE or FEP. Coatings play important roles in the field of level meters. For example, the surface of the probe can be conducted with anti-static coating to prevent electrostatic adsorption, so the probe can directly contact the metal medium.
In the Pre Foaming Machine, the density of foam is as low as 0.008g/cm³, Jiwei Tuning Fork Level Switch is an optimal option for the level control. The foam builds up static electricity, so the fork tends to bridging especially the Pre Foaming Machine inside is humid. However, with the insulation coating, the fork can be anti-static and to prevent the bridging effects. If available, installing a purging device to clean the fork is also recommended.
In the lithium battery industry, anode part of the battery cannot come into contact with metal. Capacitive level switches with PTFE rods are commonly used for the level control in these cases. However, material adhesion effects can frequently occur and cause failure measurement. Therefore, Tuning Fork Level Switch with insulation coating is an excellent alternative. The widened fork with larger amplitude promotes a better anti-bridging effect.
For the above similar conditions, the Tuning Fork Level Switch needs to be kept in an ideal resonance state, so the coating thickness of the fork should be within 0.03mm. In the applications of rough and large particles, the risk of coating abrasion should be considered. For a better service, please consult Jiwei engineers.
